Global scholarly communications major Cactus Communications (CACTUS) announced the appointment of Sourav Dutta as Senior Vice President of Strategy & Corporate Development. Dutta will be responsible for developing CACTUS’s strategic roadmap, including mergers and acquisitions, investments, and partnerships.
Dutta was involved in CACTUS’s recent acquisition of UNSILO, a Denmark-based Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Natural Language Processing (NLP) company that specializes in text analytics, linguistics, and data science. One of Dutta’s key responsibilities is creating a blueprint for the company in light of this acquisition and orienting the combined product and technology teams to it. “The opportunity to work with a high-calibre leadership and reimagine the strategic trajectory of an innovation-led company made the decision to join CACTUS easy for me. There is a lot on the strategic roadmap and I have my work cut out as we charter into new areas,” Dutta said.

Prior to joining CACTUS, Dutta worked with Tata Consumer Products Limited, a $1.2 billion FMCG company within the Tata Group. He also worked as a Management Consultant with the Strategy arm of PwC. Dutta joins CACTUS with over 13 years of experience in areas like Growth and Entry Strategy, Corporate Performance Management, Profitability Improvement, Supply Chain Management, and Organization Design.
Dutta is an Electronics and Communication Engineer from the Institute of Technology, Nirma University, Ahmedabad, and has an MBA from IIM Bangalore.
