Cactus Communications

Cactus Communications wins big at conference recognizing organizations that are pioneers of integration and empowerment of millennials.

According to a Forbes article, in 2015, millennials overtook baby boomers to constitute the largest talent pool in the world and they are predicted to account for 75%  of the global workforce by 2025. Against this background, it has become crucial for organizations to understand the mindset, motivations, and work ethic of millennials in order to make it an attractive workplace for this employee segment.

Cactus Communications (CACTUS), a global scholarly communications company with a workforce of over 3,000 experts, was recognized as one of the “Best Companies for Millennials” at the Millennial Max Conference held on November 19, 2019, in Mumbai. This conference was conducted by Times of India Ascent in association with the Learning & Organisation Development Roundtable, which selects organizations that understand the millennial perspective. As a winning organization, CACTUS was invited to join the panel discussion session titled “The Best Companies for Millennials – Best Practices for Managing Employee Experience.”

Yashmi Pujara, Chief Human Resources Officer, who has been at the center of CACTUS’s culture-building journey, says, “When we started, our very purpose was to build a company where people want to come to work. In theory, this sounds very simple. But with millennials forming a large part of our workforce, we chose to anchor our culture and people practices around their aspirations and preferences. Millennials bring certain energy, openness, and adaptability that has enabled us to grow and prosper as a business. CACTUS has always been a very culture-centric organization, and this is what distinguishes us from other employers. By having faith in the ability and commitment of millennials, we have been able to build a workplace where millennials not only thrive and stay but also lead us into the future.”

Abhishek Goel, Co-founder, and CEO thinks that aiming to be the best destination for millennials makes an organization more approachable and relevant. “This recognition ascertains we are moving in the right direction. Millennials will be at the forefront of ushering CACTUS to new heights in the future,” says Goel.

CACTUS’s efforts to create opportunities for a diverse workforce and keep its employees motivated and engaged have been recognized in the past as well. For two consecutive years, it was ranked among the top 10 companies in the Great Places to Work™ survey, ranking first in 2017. In 2018, it ranked 18th on a list released by Flexjobs on the Top 100 Companies For Remote Jobs. More recently, it was recognized as a Safe Place to Work in a pan-India survey involving over 5,000 women employees.
