Cactus celebrates diversity and actively pursues inclusion. That women comprise 55% of our workforce is a testament to this. And when you add to that about seven different nationalities, seven religions, and many more professional and cultural backgrounds, you get Cactus—a unique blend of disparate individuals who form one close-knit family.
Differences in nationality, gender, age, thinking and communication styles, and professional and educational backgrounds enrich the fabric of our corporate environment. From freshers to the almost-retired, doctors to designers, Hindus to atheists, Taiwanese to Americans, Cactus welcomes all.
On any workday, individual and cultural differences fuse into a vibrant mosaic, leading to a creativity-charged atmosphere. New recruits into this open and eclectic culture quickly learn to see beyond differences—they begin to respect opposing viewpoints, appreciate diverse working styles, and learn from colleagues who are double (or half!) their age. Trust, teamwork, innovation, and fun follow.
The versatility of our team enables flexibility and agility in a rapidly changing marketplace. Clients receive solutions that draw on the best of different worlds, benefitting from our team’s diversity.
But we don’t just champion diversity, we work towards inclusion. As an equal opportunities organization, inclusion is ingrained in every aspect of our working style. Our open holiday policy, for example, means that there are no “fixed holidays” like Diwali, Id, or Christmas—each one is free to choose any day as a holiday. So an American may choose 4 July; a Jew, Yom Kippur; an Indian, 15 August; a Korean, the Korean New Year; an agnostic, his/her birthday.
The Cactus event calendar is another example of how we (literally) celebrate diversity. It is streaked with festivals and traditions that cut across religious and national borders (e.g., a Biryani party to celebrate Id, a merry bash to mark the Japanese Bonenkai, and enthusiastic caroling at Christmas).
We not only welcome people from all over the globe and across India—we help them get accustomed to life here as well, through orientation sessions and mentors who guide them on everything from language to grocery shopping. In this inclusive culture, differences are utilized to achieve a common goal, nurture better working relationships, acquire knowledge, and grow—both personally and professionally. This is a place where people come together to create and build, where despite diversity of all kinds, the social fabric at the workplace is one.
But it’s best to let our people themselves tell you more. Click on the photographs at the top of this page to read each person's views about diversity and inclusion at Cactus.
