Before arrival

Q1. Which visa do I need to apply?
You need to apply for an employment visa. You should try getting a visa for a year even if you are looking for an internship opportunity for only 6 months. This might come in handy if you decide to extend your intership with us.
Q2. Will the company reimburse the visa fee?
Yes, visa fee is reimbursed. Please retain your visa fee receipt to claim reimbursement.
Q3. Will I need to bear flight expenses?
No, the company will bear flight expenses. We will either book the ticket on your behalf and send across the details or reimburse the flight ticket expenses.
Q4. What type of clothes should I carry?
We do not follow a dress code. You can wear casual t–shirts and denims at work. However, going by the Indian culture standards, we recommend to all female interns to not carry clothes like shorts/miniskirts or tops/blouses with low necklines.
Q5. What vaccinations should I take before coming to India?
Before leaving for India, you must make yourself familiar with different diseases that are common in Indian climatic conditions. Here’s a list of diseases that are common to India.
  • Hepatitis A
  • Hepatitis B
  • Typhoid
  • Diarrhea
  • Malaria

In addition to that, you should also consult your physician before going for any vaccination or medicine.

After arrival

Q1. Where should I go from the airport?
We will arrange for a pick–up for you from the airport. You will be dropped at the company apartment from the airport.
Q2. Where will I stay?
We will provide you with a subsidized company accommodation with all necessary amenities and furniture. The apartment will not be more than 15 minutes from office.
Q3. What is the local currency? What is the process for currency conversion?
The local currency of India is the Indian Rupee (INR). You can exchange your home currency to Indian currency at the international airport in India. Also, bring your credit card along as most places here accept credit/debit cards.

My first day

Q1. What should I expect on the first day at work?
Your first day will mostly be spent in the induction program conducted by HR. In the induction program, you will learn about Cactus and the work environment. You will be introduced to your team as well as key members in the organization. We will also give a small presentation on the Indian culture, how to travel, what to eat, and a few Hindi words for you to get acquainted with the national language of India.
Q2. What should I wear to office?
There is no dress code in Cactus. You can wear what you are comfortable in. However, make sure that you do not wear clothes that will attract unnecessary attention.
Q3. Will I be given training?
Yes, you will undergo a training program that may run for a week or two depending on the role you are hired for.

Others

Q1. What are the work hours and work days?
We work five days a week. The timings will be intimated to you during the interview stage.
Q2. Do you provide insurance cover to your employees?
Yes, you will be provided with health and accident insurance.
