In 2002, we spotted the need for an academic editing service that would cater to the requirements of academic researchers. In April that year, Cactus began operations as a language editing service that specialized in the editing of research manuscripts. Editing is the flagship service of Cactus.

Cactus is committed to making editing a financially rewarding career. If you are someone who has substantial experience in editing or writing, you can start as Associate Editor, a level higher than the entry-level position.

However, if you are switching to explore editing as a career option, you will start as Sub-editor with a minimum salary of Rs. 15000. Your compensation depends on your educational background and work experience. Thereafter, our career progression system rewards both tenure and skill, and it ensures that our editors find their careers at Cactus financially satisfying.

Will this job give me the creative satisfaction that a writer, for example, derives?

Editing at Cactus affords the opportunity to be creative within the confines of the original text. An editor does not have the creative license that a writer does. While a writers thoughts are limited by nothing other than his/her imagination, an editor is required to function within the restrictions imposed by the writer.
