Anurag Goel, CEO

Anurag brings to the organization expertise in general management and experience across a diverse range of industries, countries, and cultures. Prior to CACTUS, Anurag worked with McKinsey and Company. As a member of their pan-European Corporate Finance and Strategy Practice, he has traveled extensively throughout continental Europe, the Middle East, Australia, New Zealand, and East Asia. He holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from the Wharton School of Business and a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia.
Abhishek Goel, Co-founder and Chief Customer Officer

As Co-founder, Abhishek brings to CACTUS entrepreneurial vision; a rich, in-depth understanding of client expectations and needs; and strong leadership and business development skills. Prior to establishing CACTUS, Abhishek was actively involved with the Mumbai and Japan chapters of the international student organization AIESEC, where he served as a Strategy Consultant. In his current role, he develops strategies for business growth and is responsible for helping people across the organization contribute to increased client happiness. Abhishek holds a bachelor’s degree in commerce from the University of Mumbai.
Aneesha Jaisheel, Associate Vice President, Systems and Information Management

In the seven years that Aneesha has been with CACTUS, she has worked with various departments including client servicing, customer relationship & complaints management, business development, operations, technology, and product management. Aneesha brings to CACTUS an incisive understanding of business processes and services, a passion for execution and a fresh perspective to the organizational culture. In her current role as Associate Vice President, Systems and Information Management, she leads cross-functional teams, helping them work collaboratively toward a common goal of great technology. Aneesha has a post-graduate degree in English Literature from the University of Mumbai, India.
Donald Samulack, PhD, President, US Operations

Donald brings to CACTUS an insider’s perspective of the clinical and academic spheres, as well as extensive pharmaceutical and biotechnology experience. After a PhD in medical physiology from McGill University and several years of postdoctoral research in the US and Canada, he left the academic environment to work in the pharmaceutical services sector. Prior to joining CACTUS, Donald was Director of the Department of Scientific Editing at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Philadelphia, where he acquired an in-depth understanding of clinical processes and documentation requirements; regulatory issues; and scientific writing, editing, and publication processes.
Elvira D’souza, Vice President, Medical writing

With 10 years of experience in the medical communications industry across a variety of roles and challenges, Elvira has in-depth knowledge of the needs and concerns of pharmaceutical and medical corporations. She has interacted with and assisted authors, researchers, and pharmaceutical and device companies globally across multiple projects types and a range of therapeutic areas. She was the driving force behind the introduction of the BELS exam in India. Elvira has a bachelor’s degree in life sciences from the University of Mumbai and a master’s in business administration from the Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai, India. She also has an ELS certification from the Board of Editors in the Life Sciences and is a certified medical publication professional (CMPP).
Gary Groesbeck, Sales Director, Medical Communications (Cactus Communications Inc.)

Gary brings to CACTUS 25+ years of experience in sales and marketing across multiple industries. For the last 12 years, he has had extensive experience working with key decision makers across the pharmaceutical industry, developing long-term relationships and selling medical and regulatory writing services. As Director of Sales for Cactus Communications Inc., Gary’s role involves building new relationships with top pharmaceutical and biotech companies across the pharmaceutical landscape and advancing strategic partnerships that enable CACTUS to provide a wide range of medical writing services. This includes developing marketing strategies that position CACTUS as a major resource in support of medical communications for medical affairs and regulatory writing audiences throughout the industry. Gary holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from St Francis College, Loretto, PA.
Kiso Park, Vice President, Sales (Cactus Communications Korea Co. Ltd.)

With 40+ years of business expertise across various industries in Korea, Kiso brings to CACTUS an incisive and extensive knowledge of client needs, corporate sales, and communication within the Korean market. As Vice President, Sales, Kiso understands the need to present Korean science to the international community and is responsible for driving sales, managing client relationships, and overseeing operations in the growing Korean market. Kiso has a master’s degree in German and international business from the Hankook University of Foreign Studies, Seoul.
Makoto Yuasa, Director, Marketing (Cactus Communications K. K.)

Having lived in Japan, India, and the UK, Makoto has first-hand knowledge of cross-cultural business differences as well as a real understanding of client needs. Working at the CACTUS head office in India from 2003 to 2005, Makoto played an important role in introducing online marketing and in promoting CACTUS’s editing services among researchers in Japan. After rejoining CACTUS in 2007, as part of its Japan subsidiary, he has taken over management of the Japan office as well as business development for the publication support, education, transcription, translation, and design services. Makoto has a bachelor’s degree in law from Nihon University, Japan.
Nikesh Gosalia, Vice President, Author Services

With years of experience in the financial services industry, Nikesh brings to CACTUS a strong business focus, sharp analytical skills, proven people management skills, and the ability to efficiently drive performance across a large and diverse portfolio. As Vice President, Author Services, he provides direction to our flagship Editing and Publication Support division, oversees operations, and ensures effective quality and cost control. He has a bachelor’s degree in production engineering from K. J. Somaiya College of Engineering, Mumbai, and a diploma in business management from NMIMS, Mumbai.
Shriram Poonja, Associate Vice President, Marketing

Shriram brings to CACTUS a wealth of experience from his varied career roles across multiple industries. During his seven years of association with CACTUS, Shriram held various important portfolios across domains, including Web and graphics, digital marketing, and offline and online marketing. His diverse experience has given him with a keen understanding of the CACTUS culture, business, and clients. As Associate Vice President, Marketing, Shriram drives the overall strategic direction for the growth of Cactus Communications (Shanghai) Co., China. Shriram has a bachelor’s degree in Commerce from the University of Mumbai, India.
Susanne Gupta, Associate Vice President, Human Resources

Susanne has a keen understanding of the relationship between personnel management and business development. Having worked with some of India’s industrial forerunners, Susanne brings to the organization fresh perspective and immense energy. As head of the Human Resources team, Susanne is responsible for acquiring and retaining talent, influencing organizational culture, reinforcing organizational values, and supporting CACTUS offices and leaders in achieving business goals. Susanne has a post-graduate diploma in Business Administration (Human Resources) from SIES college of Management studies, Mumbai.
Yashmi Pujara, Principal, Organization Development

With years of expertise in marketing and HR leadership across the publishing and IT industries (notably at The Times Group), Yashmi brings to the organization experience in personnel management, collaborative relationship building, and best-practice implementation, as well as a keen understanding of both the people and client sides of a business. In her current role, Yashmi is responsible for developing leaders, influencing organizational culture, and reinforcing organizational values. Yashmi holds a bachelor’s degree in commerce from the University of Mumbai.
